so i've been a complete slacker with posting on this blog--and this is so frustrating because i compose a post in my head numerous times per week, but just don't take the time to actually type it. i keep telling myself that after i'm finished with school and life is "normal" again (what does that mean exactly???), that i'll begin posting more often. we'll see...
so little miss m is the light of our lives right now and she is changing so quickly! this weekend we got a toddler bed (aka "big girl bed") to have at my apartment. she was so excited while d was putting it together. it's taken a few nights to get used to it, but i think she likes it.
something that's taking us by surprise... i think we take for granted how quickly she is learning and how easy it is to teach her new things. she's all we know and of course we think she is a genius and perfect and completely adorable, but people keep telling us how advanced her vocabulary is and how quickly she learns stuff. it's so funny. we love it of course because it's pretty easy to communicate with her, but sometimes i just want to bottle her up and keep her little for a while longer. she still lets me snuggle her with tight hugs and get some "i'm-still-a-baby" hugs most days, but she is truly changing every day. she's also doing great with potty training with only a pullup on at nap and bedtime. woohoo!!!
one area of concern right now is that she is really beginning to understand, and not like, when we're all not together. when i'm in northern ky and d's in lville, she does not like it. she cries for me when she's there and for him when she's with me. we are so thankful we made the decision for me to begin school when she was only 6 months, because we now only have four and half months to go while she's uber aware. bless her precious heart, she is a total trooper. she's adapted better than we have on some things, and all she wants is one home and not two, and a mommy and daddy who sleep under the same roof for more than two nights a week. mommy and daddy are beyond ready for that too. bring on december 14th!!!!!
